I get ghosted by a lot of recruiters. Do you know why that might be?

Reasons recruiters ghost candidates

It could be due to a number of things, including:

You don’t stand out in the sea of applications

  • There are a lot of people applying, so if your resume or portfolio isn’t highlighting your expertise and best work, you might get overlooked.
  • Make sure you’re showing off what makes you unique—focus on your strongest case studies and achievements that set you apart.

You applied too late

  • Timing matters! If you apply after the job’s been up for a while or after they've started screening candidates, your chances are lower.
  • Some companies work on a "first come, first served" basis, so getting your application in early is key.

You’re not playing to your strengths, looking in the wrong places, or mass applying

  • If you’re applying for jobs that don’t really match your skills or experience, it’s harder to stand out.
  • Focus on roles where you can really showcase what you’re good at.
