I'm looking to get into freelance UI/UX design but I'm not sure where to start since I don't have much experience yet. What would be a way to start?

Starting freelance in UX/UI Design with limited experience

Here’s what I would do:

1) Get experience, FAST

Here's how:
  • Reach out to your network (friends, family, FB groups, LinkedIn)
  • Offer your service for cheap or FREE
  • Get testimonials after work is complete
  • Try to experiment with the UX process as much as possible and repeat

2) Build your freelance website

  • Add work to your freelance portfolio to show good work that you’ve done
  • Charge relatively low at the beginning and increase you prices slightly with every new client

3) Ask for referrals

  • Once you’ve had clients that are happy with your work
  • Ask them to refer their friends or some that needs design

4) Try other techniques to get clients

  • Ads
  • Cold DMs and emails
  • Companies looking for a part time designer
