4 key themes for career growth

There are 4 core themes I think for growth for any career:

1. Career Questions — Ask the Right Questions

Questions like “What excites me?” and “Where do I want to be in 5 years?” help you figure out what drives you and keep you focused on what really matters.

2. Define & Create Focus — Set Clear Goals

Break big goals into smaller steps and stay focused on what’ll move you forward. This keeps you motivated and on track.

3. Manage Up — Work Well With Your Manager

It’s important to understand what your manager expects and how you can best support them.
Communicate regularly, ask for feedback, and align your goals with theirs. It helps you work better together and creates more opportunities.

4. Sell Yourself — Stand Out and Show Your Value

Know your strengths and how to communicate them clearly.
Whether in a job interview or performance review, highlight what makes you unique and the value you bring. It’s all about positioning yourself as someone who makes an impact.
