How to bypass the screening process and get noticed

There’s this nightclub analogy that fits perfectly:
Door 1: The normal entrance—wait in line like everyone else and hope to get in, but you might get turned away if it’s too crowded.
Door 2: The VIP entrance—reserved for the rich, famous, or well-connected.
Door 3: The staff entrance, the open bathroom window, or some unconventional way in.
For designers, I recommend focus on Door 3.
Find a creative way to stand out: reach out directly, impress them with your work, redesign a feature from their product, hang out where they do, or make a video pitching yourself.
Be bold, resourceful, and memorable—you’re looking for that third door!
